The Scam

Steven Salmon knew that there were key steps he had to accomplish to make this scam work. Steven realized that he had to convince buyers that anything that went wrong at any point that negatively affected buyers was the result of actions outside of his control and were not his fault. Just as importantly, anything that went right and that positively impacted buyers was the direct result of his actions. As long as he was able to deflect blame and maintain buyers’ confidence, his scam could continue.

But first he had to make the sales, and that hinged on the games he offered.

Then he created an initial delay related to transport.

Then the ultimate delay, a "fire".
